The United Nations has been made aware of various scams that falsely claim to be associated with the Organization. These scams may take the form of job offers, lottery winnings, or requests for personal information or payment.

How to Identify Fraud

The United Nations:

  • Does not charge a fee at any stage of the recruitment process
  • Does not request personal bank account information
  • Does not offer prizes, awards, or funds through unsolicited emails
  • Does not conduct lotteries or offer cash prizes

What to Do

If you have received a suspicious communication claiming to be from the United Nations, please do not respond, do not click on any links, and do not provide any personal information or payment. Report the incident to your local authorities.

Always donate through official UN channels. The United Nations never requests fees or personal banking information to receive donations.
